PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The works comprised the excavation and formation of complicated foundation and concrete base for a new telescope being installed by OGS. Service tracks and service connections were made to the new panel and existing services situated with the George Bruce Building.
Works associated with the installation of the telescope, including: – structural foundations, platform, supports & fixings.
Associated mechanical and electrical services to support telescope and security perimeter fencing & external works.
KEY CHALLENGES
The works were carried out in a live working environment where ongoing critical works were being undertaken in adjacent parts of the building. The continuity of services at all times was critical.
Integration of new services into the existing systems was carefully controlled.
All works were delivered on time.
ADDED VALUE
Worked closely with the Design Team and client to keep works within budget. Working closely with the end users to ensure minimal disruption to ensure continuity. Our experience in working in Live Environments ensured
that no issues were caused.
Value Engineering was carried out to ensure the project kept to it’s tight budget.
