PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The refurbishment of the existing ground, first and second floor works spaces of the Lyell Building. This will include new flooring, partitions, doors, acoustic panels and lighting. New desks, storage, work pods, planting, AV equipment and IT equipment were provided by others.        

The works comprised the general strip-out and refurbishment of the Ground, First & Second Floor workspaces (excluding the laboratories) to include the construction of new plasterboard partitions and doors, acoustic ceiling baffles, new flooring finishes and decoration throughout. M&E service alterations to accommodate the new acoustic baffles, power and data and specialist acoustic works.

KEY CHALLENGES

The works were carried out in a live working environment where ongoing critical works were being undertaken in adjacent parts of the building. The continuity of services and maintaining of a dust free environment at all times was critical.

ADDED VALUE

Worked closely with the Design Team and client to keep works within budget. Working closely with the end users to ensure minimal disruption to ensure continuity. Our experience in working in Live Environments ensured that no issues were caused.
