PROJECT DESCRIPTION<\/u><\/b><\/p>

The refurbishment of the existing ground, first and second\u00a0floor works spaces of the Lyell Building. This will include new flooring,\u00a0partitions, doors, acoustic panels and lighting. New desks, storage, work pods,\u00a0planting, AV equipment and IT equipment were provided by others.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

The works comprised the installation of a new distribution\u00a0board within the George Bruce Building to feed the new OGS Telescope base. New\u00a0floor screed over the whole warehouse floor and the installation of new heavy\u00a0duty storage racking.<\/p>

KEY CHALLENGES<\/b><\/p>

The works were carried out in a live working environment\u00a0where ongoing critical works were being undertaken in adjacent parts of the\u00a0building.\u00a0 The continuity of services and\u00a0maintaining of a dust free environment at all times was critical.<\/p>

All works had to be planned and co-ordinated with other\u00a0 users and HWU Estates and Maintenance staff\u00a0to ensure there were disruptions to the services and controlled integration of\u00a0new services into the existing systems was carefully controlled.\u00a0<\/p>

All works were delivered on time.<\/p>

ADDED VALUE<\/b><\/p>

Worked closely with the Design Team and client to keep works\u00a0within budget. Working closely with the end users to ensure minimal disruption\u00a0to ensure continuity. Our experience in working in live environments ensured\u00a0that no issues were caused.\u00a0<\/p>

Due to the materials being stored within the warehouse which\u00a0were unable to be removed as originally planned, we worked closely with the\u00a0University and provided plant and labour free of charge to assist with the\u00a0moving of these materials to ensure we maintained the programme and competed\u00a0the works on time.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
