PROJECT DESCRIPTION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Refurbishment of two separate spaces. CEC Maple dealt with the refurbishment of existing kitchen and shower rooms.\u00a0 CEC Granton dealt with renewing three disabled toilet floors and the forming of half height partitions to enclose an existing kitchen space.<\/p>

Refurbishment works were carried out across two separate areas to enhance functionality and improve overall condition.<\/p>

At CEC Maple, the project involved refurbishment of the existing kitchen and shower room facilities, upgrading finishes, fittings, and services to create refreshed, practical spaces suited for daily use. A new cleaners sink was fitted inside the shower room.<\/p>

At CEC Granton, works focused on the renewal of three disabled toilet floors, ensuring improved durability, safety, and compliance with accessibility standards. In addition, half-height partitions were formed to enclose an existing kitchen area, creating a defined division between food preparation and dining areas while maintaining an open, accessible environment.<\/p>

KEY CHALLENGES<\/b><\/p>

Key challenges for Maple:<\/b><\/p>

CEC Maple was located on a busy main road, which presented logistical challenges when bringing materials into and out of the building. To minimise disruption and avoid peak traffic congestion, all deliveries and waste collections were carefully scheduled for early mornings when traffic levels were significantly lower.<\/p>

Throughout the works, building users were temporarily relocated to allow the refurbishment to proceed safely and efficiently. As a result, it was essential that the programme was managed closely and that all works were completed within the agreed timeframe. This ensured the users could return to the building as planned, without delay or further disruption.<\/p>

Key challenges for Granton:<\/b><\/p>

As with CEC Maple, building users were temporarily relocated to facilitate the refurbishment works. It was therefore essential that all works were delivered efficiently and in line with the agreed programme. The Granton site operated under a tight schedule, as the space was required to reopen for the end user within a fixed timeframe, making timely completion critical.<\/p>

We worked closely with the Design Team and the client to keep the project on programme, while also staying in regular contact with end users to minimise disruption and keep things running smoothly.<\/p>
